The Tavern is an authentic English pub in Meguro with an impressive lineup of beer and food. It's the only place I know of which serves Lowenbrau on tap, which is alone enough of a reason to give it a try. They also serve quite a few bottle beers and the usual selection of domestic brands.
The food is quite good as well. Along with standard pub fare such as fish and chips (with mushy peas) and steak and kidney pies, they have a Mexican menu as well. I know, it's weird to find Chicken Burritos or Beef Chimichangas at an English pub, but they do it pretty well. They also have a few daily selections such as pasta of the day or special pie of the day written on the chalkboard as you come in. There should be something for everyone at The Tavern.
The Tavern is about 5 minutes from Meguro Station. From the West exit, go to Meguro Dori and turn left. Walk to the huge pedestrian overpass, and The Tavern is just to the right of the overpass. It's on the 2nd floor, right beside an Indian restaurant. If you get lost, the number is 3779-0280.
