Pizza Express

Pizza Express is a chain store with branches all over the world and new ones opening all the time. While some people don't like the mass production type of restaurant this usually produces, Pizza Express is an exception.

It's hard not to be impressed by the interior of Pizza Express. It has an open, spacious feeling with hard wood floors and lots of glass to let the light in. It has a California atmosphere to it with bright colors, chic furnishings and a huge piano in the dining room.

The food is also quite good, specializing in, you guessed it pizza. They have around 20 different set pizza toppings, but you can improvise and create your own if you wish. They also have about 5 different pasta dishes as well as sides and salads. You can watch the chef make your pizza if you have nothing better to do.

Each pizza goes for about 1000-1200 yen and is enough for one person who is not extremely hungry. I suggest two pizzas and a side dish for two people if you want real satisfaction. There are certainly cheaper places to have pizza, but Pizza Express is a nice place for a date, especially for lunch or during the early afternoon as the location I went to is great for people watching.

These photos are from the Harajuku branch, on the 3rd floor of the Gap building right on Meiji Dori. It is in the same building and on the same floor as the Elephant Cafe.
