Fedora is very much an underground place, one of those places you have to know
to get there, and even then you might not be able to find it under certain circumstances.
It is a small, dark little place and not exactly bursting with activity at any
time, but it does have, in my opinion, the friendliest owner of any place in
the Shinjuku area. He refused to let Raydude's camera anywhere near him (must
have found out about that Princess Di thing. . .) but he's a great guy who is
always up for a game of backgammon or a conversation if you show up by yourself.

Even if you don't go there to drink, Fedora is a fascinating archeological study. There is a great collection of memorabilia from the 70's, which includes most of the people who hang out there.

Yes, that is indeed a juke box, and no, it doesn't even come close to working. But hey, it's still a pretty unusual find these days, right?
I highly recommend stopping in Fedora some time, if you can find it, and checking it out and having a chat with the master. Drinks are cheap, and he'll never pressure you to buy food (which he doesn't serve) or make you go home until you're ready. If you prefer a nonsmoking environment, I suggest you bring along a plastic bag to stick your head into. Fedora is the ultimate in friendly, chilled, smoke filled drinking and something to be experienced at least once.
This map should be able to get you to both Fedora and the Rolling Stone.
